On the first trip since the pandemic nine Shedders visited the Sky Museum in Southampton.
During their visit they enjoyed the many exhibits demonstration the aviation and industrial history of the local area, especially the local history of winning the Schneider Trophy that directly led to the development of the Spitfire, and the development of flying boats that resulted in a whole industry of luxury travel.
They were also given a presentation by Southampton Tram Preservation Society of the history of the city’s trams and their efforts to restore one of Southampton’s unique trams.
The Shedders concluded the trip with a visit to the local hostelry for lunch and refreshments.
